Black-Owned Family-Style Restaurant in Alabama Has No Prices and Feeds Anyone Who Is Hungry

The owners of Drexell & Honeybee’s restaurant in downtown Brewton, Alabama only has one rule in their establishment. Everyone eats!

Lisa and Freddie Thomas-Mcmillan has gained national attention after starting a unique Southern-styled donation only restaurant that welcomes any and all people who are hungry between 11am and 1pm from Tuesday thru Thursday, regardless if the patrons are able to pay for their food or not.

The establishment which has a daily-changing menu of foods like fried chicken, cornbread, and collard greens, allows their customers to leave what they can after their meals, whether it be a handful of coins, a generous donation, or even a thank you note.

The couple, who uses 100% of the donations for the operational costs of their business that feeds the hungry, is motivated to spread the sentiment that when you leave, you do so with a full stomach, a full heart, and the understanding that you are loved and worthy of love.
